Our History
Chazio’s was founded in 1987 by Charles Nelson and Georgio Motto in St. Charles, IL. After many successful years, Charles Nelson, with the help of his wife Gwendolyn, branched out to the McHenry County area with locations in Crystal Lake, Algonquin, and Lake in the Hills.
Today, Chazio’s of Lake in the Hills is our primary Salon and is also considered a Redken Elite Salon. Recently renovated and expanded, we specialize in Hair Services such as Color, Shaping, and Hair Extensions. We also offer a Nail Spa setting for Manicures, Pedicures and Artificial Enhancements.
The Salon Professional Academy
In February 2005, Redken approached us with the concept of a new kind of Cosmetology School. A school owned by salon owners, teaching advanced skills, and growing the Industries next generation of Salon Leaders. We couldn’t say no.
The Salon Professional Academy of Elgin, endorsed by Redken, offers courses for licensure in Cosmetology, Nail Technology, Esthetics, and Master Educator. Now in our 4th year, we have successfully placed over 83% of our students in their first career position throughout the Redken Network.
